“The school provides a bright and vibrant learning community where children feel safe and valued.”
Ofsted September 2007
In the heart of High Bentham tucked away behind the Library is our school. We enjoy a large site that includes playgrounds, a playing field, an all-weather pitch and a wildlife garden. Our children are taught in mixed age classes and can join our Nursery from the age of three. They move on to Ingleton Middle School at the end of Year 5. The school is led by an experienced and committed Head teacher and the children benefit from a well qualified and highly motivated team of teachers. All staff bring their specialisms to a dynamic, challenging and creative curriculum to ensure our children have access to the broadest range of experiences.

Sport at High Bentham is very important - physical enjoyment and well being is as vital as academic instruction. We participate in lots of local Cluster sports events - this one was a year 3 Orienteering competition.

We are proud of the music we have in school. We currently have a school choir, recorder groups and flute, clarinet, violin, trumpet and guitar lessons are available and enjoyed by our children. Ofsted said “Music provision is a real strength of the school.” We stage whoel school musical productions, such as Joseph, in the Town Hall.
As a rural Primary school we ensure we work collaboratively with local cluster schools, Wennington Hall Special School, North Craven Children’s Centre and other agencies.

In the heart of High Bentham we make the most of all the space we have available. As well as the usual playground and field we also enjoy an all weather pitch -
which helps as we have all sorts of weather!

We are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and choices for our children. Our provision of school sport alongside social and emotional education ensures that the development and well being of the whole child remains at the heart of what we do.
We run a wide range of after school clubs at our school, organised and run by staff and outside providers. Children can attend Art Club, practise their sporting skills, try new drama techniques, take up Karate or Yoga, or even cook the evening meal! We also have a very popular breakfast club from 8 am every school morning and a new “After School Club” (April 2008) which offers quality childcare every school night until 6pm.

We have received many awards for our work at making the curriculum challenging and enjoyable. Here, Mrs Boocock recieved the International School Award
on behalf of the school.

We have a very successful and busy School Council who help the teachers and Governors raise money and tackle important issues across the school. In 2008 the staff and children have achieved International School Award, Investors in People and Inclusion Quality Mark.
"Our School is like one big family and all the adults are really caring – just like Mums and Dads to us."
